On Saturday evening, one of our councillors picked 11 bags worth of other dog faeces up during his evening dog walk. The majority of these were found in Marjorie Chapman Meadow but others along Cliffsend Road and Sandwich Road.
There are waste bins situated outside the village hall, next to the play park, on the corner of Bakers Field, on Cliffsend Road, Sandwich Road, Thanet Parkway, Canterbury Road West and other areas of the village.
We understand that occasionally people may genuinely get caught short and realise they've run out of bags — these things happen. If that does happen, please do the right thing and return as soon as possible to clear it up.
We are liaising with Thanet District Council to have a waste bin placed on the gate of Marjorie Chapman Meadow and discussions are going to be held about the Parish Council providing bag dispensers at various locations around the village to encourage dog walkers to clean up after themselves.
Please do the right thing and clean up after your dog - keep the village clean for everyone and respect the green spaces we are fortunate to have in the village.
