A sink hole appeared in Sandwich Road over the weekend, opposite the Viking Ship. Cliffsend Parish Council has contacted Kent County Council (KCC) Highways, who are responsible for the road. KCC Highways have provided this update: -

After making safe the site and setting up the diversion we requested that Southern Water Services check their apparatus in the area for leaks and faults. SWS have come back to us advising that they have found no fault in their systems. We will now issue a works order to our contractor to investigate the void and reinstate accordingly. It is anticipated that these works will start soon, and further update will be made when we know a start date.
