200 ADDITIONAL HOUSES - COTTINGTON ROAD - HAVE YOUR SAY!
Cliffsend Parish Council
The developer has appealed against the Thanet District Council (TDC) decision to reject the proposal to build another 200 houses off Cottington Road. Therefore, the new housing development proposal will now be decided by The Planning Inspectorate with a public inquiry.
The Planning Inspectorate is a government agency. You have an opportunity to submit comments and views to the Planning Inspectorate by registering as an “interested party”. There is no cost, and anyone can do this online. The closing date to do this is 1st September. Cliffsend Parish Council objected to the initial planning application to TDC and will be raising their objections as an interested party with the Planning Inspectorate. We encourage people to do the same. To do this, search online -
“planning inspectorate appeals casework portal” and input reference APP/Z2260/W/25/3368475, then click on “Make Representation”.
Details of the case can be found on TDC’s website -
“Search Thanet District Council Planning Applications” and input the TDC planning application reference OL/TH/24/1473, then click on “Documents”. The Parish Council objection is dated 12/6/25 on the list of documents.
Please note: The Planning Inspectorate will not accept any submissions after the closing date of 1/9/25.
